It seems that a few sets of turbos (about 4-5 I think) have started smoking recently. These are all pretty recent turbos. For some reason it appears that the quality on the t-28's have suffered recently. We've installed several sets down here and have not had a single set go bad on us. Including my own set that were run real hard (22-23lbs) and never smoked one bit, but when ZO put them on they started smoking on him. Go figure. We are not going to be selling any more t25/28 or full t28 turbos until we can figure out was is going on. It really upsets me personally when I hear that a set of turbos we sold has started smoking. So we will sell only brand new turbos from now on. We are currently checking on sizing and prices, but we'll look into KKK, IHI, Garrett BB(which Gyro will be putting on his car) and a few others. They will cost more money, but should be more reliable.
It seems that some people assume that "DSP=JUNK" or "DSP=POS", as if WE make the turbos ourselves. Mostly these are ignorant people with slow cars making these comments, so I'll deal with them at another time:) Maybe my POS/JUNK turbos will be running against theirs at a track near you can you all can come and see for yourselves .I think its safe to assume that we do not make them ourselves and if it were up to us our turbos would have no reliability issues. I promise that we will make up for these few mistakes to those people who have suffered and to this forum. I hope to have my car running real soon and will be proudly representing this forum and all Z owners at upcoming events. Sorry for the long post, but just thought people would like to know what was going on.
